SELSI™ Screener | Social–Emotional Learning Skills Inventory Screener
Pilot Phase
Overview
The SELSI Screener is a universal Tier 1 instrument consisting of 10 items for use with children and adolescents ages 2 through 21 years. It is intended to assess students’ Social–Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, to help guide instruction, and to measure post-instructional efforts (i.e., pre and post screening). Items are rated on a 4-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (Never) to 4 (Almost Always). Ratings describe the frequency of specific SEL behaviors in the last 30 days.
The SELSI Screener was designed to align with the overarching framework developed by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) for SEL and to measure the five core areas of social and emotional learning:
- Self-awareness
- Self-management
- Social awareness
- Relationship skills
- Responsible decision making
How can I participate and pilot this tool?
